A simple and concise answer;

The Advantages:

In trapping heat : The media and others makes us think that Carbon dioxide is bad, which also makes us think that there should be no CO2. But if the Earth did not have CO2 and the other greenhouse gases, then the average temperature of Earth would be well below freezing point of water. This temperature is hostile to many of the life forms and most of the species would not have evolved under such cold conditions.For Photosynthesis : Carbon dioxide is required by plants to carry out Photosynthesis, the process by which we get Oxygen and Food. Without Carbon dioxide, the production of Oxygen and food will stop, which will lead to mass extinction. Also, even plants need Carbon dioxide during the night time to carry out Respiration.For Industries : Carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are required by various industries.

The disadvantages :

Global warming : As you all know, Global Warming is already causing the melting of ice, rise in sea levels, more intense storms, billions of dollars of damage to property, and the loss of lives.Reduction in the rate of Photosynthesis : The rate of Photosynthesis slows down as the concentration of Carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases beyond the concentration of 0.05%.Extinction : Excess amount of Carbon dioxide is already indirectly causing the extinction of many species.

•••Negative effect is that Water level balance of the earth would be destroyed. Polar ice caps would melt and resulting to the Increase of the Level of Ocean.....
