The zones of Earth which exhibit similar pressure conditions on an average in circular belts according to the latitudes are called pressure belts. For example, equatorial low pressure belt exist from the equator (0°) to 5° North and South latitudes.

Horizontally, the distribution of atmosphere pressure is not the same all over the world .Different parts of the Earth are heated unequally . Like the heat zones , we also have four major pressure belts around the earth.

Two factors that creates pressure belts are -Temperature and rotation of the earth .
