Pressure group are the interest groups which work to secure certain interest by influencing the public policy. They are non-aligned with any political party and work as indirect yet powerful group to influence the decision. In this article focus is paid on nature, types, role and function of pressure groups in India.

1) Electioneering - They try to place in public office persons who are favourably disposed towards the interest they seek to promote.
2) Lobbying - They try to persuade public officers to adopt and enforce the policies that they think might be beneficial to their interests.
3) Propagandizing -Try to influence the Public and gain an indirect influence over government..
