Interest Groups because the basis of organisation of each group is the shared and common interests of the members who believe that these interests can be secured through their collective efforts in the group.

These are called Pressure Groups because the means that these groups use for securing their interests are pressure tactics. Each group tries to secure and promote its interests by putting pressure on the government and political parties, particularly the party in power and the society at large.
