Well, basically is a totalitarian regime that is responsible for the actual state of the country. They ruled unaccountable of their actions for 70 years, causing nothing but constant economic, political and social crisis as well as the systematic impoverishment and fomenting the ignorance of most of the population.
They systematised corruption and embedded it into the social system, making it endemic (corruption is a Colonial era baby but the PRI made an art form of it)
Well besides repressing, coercing, murdering opposition, and overall making it hell for the regular folk. they had stole, depleted and pretty much ruin the country
They have been an active promoter of illegal immigration from our poorest citizens into the USA, and have use this as a valve of scape to avoid social chaos and uprise against them
They, thru very complex and cunning mechanisms, take money out of the financial system (mostly thru public infrastructure projects) which years later they will use to buy elections
They allowed the Narcos to flourish and since Salinas de Gortari era they allowed the narco to infiltrate the government and use it now as both a financial resource and as a way to keep the general population in terror (war on drugs)
They have been allowed to do this and for so long, thanks to the complacency of world powers such as the US, France, UK etc due to the “mi casa es tu casa” policy that they have with the corporations and interests of such powers. (I tell you, the day that the PRI does anything that will cause conflict with the interest of any of these countries, and the very next day you’ll have the spokesperson of the US gov saying they will remove them from power to “liberate us poor Mexicans” )
So pretty much they’re a cancer, and they’re killing us and no one is doing anything about it
