A protist is any eukaryotic organism that is not an animal, plant or fungus. The protists do not form a natural group, or clade, but are often grouped together for convenience, like algae or invertebrates.
The kingdom to which the protists belong is known as kingdom 'Protista'.
Example - Amoeba, Euglena, Paramecium, Pediastrum, etc.

Hope this helps...

Protists make up a kingdom called protista. They are eukaryotic (have true nucleus) and unicellular. Their mode of nutrition can be autotrophic or heterotrophic. Some have hair like structures or whip-like flagella for moving around. They are subdivided into protozoa, protophyta and molds
For eg: algae, diatoms, euglena, paramecium
