In pshychology the obsession is a Compulsive disorder which causes more attachment towards anything .In this disorder (OCD) a person faces the problems-unwanted thoughts, repeating of the thoughts .

Example

Obsession is a human characteristic that can take many forms. Many are useful but others are not…Obsession over a particular human can lead to a relationship, marriage and children (thus, survival of the species) or abuse and even death. It can also lead to wealth, new cures, survival of the species, war, useful inventions and many other things. So are ability to be obsessive can be useful or harmful depending on what we get obsessed and fixated on..
