Public interest pressure groups are groups which seek to promote the interest of the people in general and look after common objectives for their betterment. They are also known as promotional groups because they promote collective rather than selective good.

FUNCTION :-

1. aim to help groups other than their own members .
2. many undertake activity that benefits them as well as others .
3. eg : BAMCEF   - Backward AND Minority Community Employees Federation .
4.it is an organisation made up of government employees that campaign caste discrimination .
