Hello friend...!!
RACEMIC MIXTURE :
• a racemic mixture ( also know as racemic modification) is a mixture containing two enantiomers (dextro and laevo) of a compound in equal proportions.
• the optical rotation of such mixture is zero as because the optical rotation of one enantiomer cancels the optical rotation of the other enantiomers.
•the process of conversation of enantiomers into a racemic mixture is known as racemisation.
METHOD OF RESOLUTION OF RACEMIC MIXTURE :
• to separate the enantiomers the common procedure is to
Convert them to a mixture of diasteromers That is will have different physical properties thus easly resolved.
Hope it is useful...!!
