Raw materials are the products which are found naturally or developed by farmers . The Harappan got the raw materials from various places . They got copper probably from present day Rajasthan , and also from Oman . Tin was brought from Afghanistan and Iran . Gold was brought from Karnataka .

The Harappan needs Raw materials because such raw materials were of immense important to all the civilized societies of the period [ and other periods ] either for their practical use [ eg metals for tools , timber for houses and ships ] or for social , political and religious display [ eg adorning temples ] .
