Red blood cells are spherical in shape.

The mature cells do not have nucleus. The RBCs are produced in bone marrow.it has a lifespan of only a few days.

A red coloured pigment called Haemoglobin is present in RBCs,this makes the blood look red in colour. Heamoglobin combines with oxygen and forms oxyhaemoglobin.
