______...

\huge{\underline {\underline {\rm {\ Real \: Image }}}}

  • When the rays of light actually meet, the image so formed is known as real image.

  • A real image can be caught on a screen since it is formed by actual meeting of rays.

  • A real image is always inverted.

  • A real image is formed by a convergent reflected beam.

  • In ray diagrams , we use full lines to represent the rays of real image.

\huge{\underline {\underline {\rm {\ Virtual \: Image }}}}

  • When the rays of light appear to meet, the image so formed is known as virtual image.

  • A virtual image cannot be caught on a screen since it is formed imaginary rays.

  • A virtual image is always erect.

  • A virtual image is formed by a divergent reflected beam.

  • In ray diagrams , we use dotted lines to represent the rays of virtual image.
