The following are the reasons due to which there is an increase in non-agricultural use of land:
1) Urbanisation: the increase in urbanisation and growing interest of people towards cities and developed towns have increased in the growth of growing infrastructure in cities and towns.
2) Industrialisation: the increase in industries and development of such industries have to lead to the use of and for industrial infrastructural development.
3) Growing population: the growth in population and the constantly increasing number have lead to the need for developing residential areas and occupying even those lands which were earlier used for agriculture.
