A reflex action is unlike a usual action carried out by the body. It is an immediate action which is done in order to protect the body from any instantaneous danger. A normal motion in the body is controlled and executed by the brain, but a reflex action is carried out in the spinal cord.
Examples:-
1) The withdrawal of the hand after touching a hot object.
2) Moving backwards after stepping on a sharp object.
