REGULATORS:

Regulators or the growth regulators are actually the plant growth hormones that are secreted by plants themselves to regulate and modify their growth for their easy growth pattern.

Plant growth regulators are five in number – auxin, gibberellin, cytokinin, abscisic acid, and ethylene. The first three are growth promoters and the last two are growth inhibitors.

Auxin, cytokinin, gibberellin helps in seed sprouting, growth towards sunlight, growth of internodes, branching, profuse root division, etc, but abscisic acid and ethylene promote shedding of leaves, shortening of stems, ripening of fruits, etc.
