Non- renewable Resources - The resources which can be renewed. It is also called exhaustible resources as it gets exhausted by the human activities. They take millions of years for their formation. Example - Coal and Petroleum.
Renewable resources - The resource which can be renewed. It is also called inexhaustible resources as they do not get exhausted by human activities. Example - Sunlight, water etc.

Nonrenewable energy resources, like coal, oil, and natural gas, are available in limited supplies. This is usually due to the long time it takes for them to be replenished or to form . Renewable resources are replenished naturally and over relatively short periods of time .
