INTRODUCTION:
These are the specialized structures of Cyanobacteria .
Resting spores-
Akinete is a resting spore formed due to thickening of the wall of vegetative cell,to tide over unfavorable conditions.
-Each of this germinate on the advent of favorable conditions to give rise to a new filament.
Hetero-cysts:
-It is a modified vegetative cells.
-Depending on the concentration of nitrogen hetero cysts formation takes places.
-They are slightly enlarged cells and pale yellow in color.

#answer → A resting spore can be a spore created by fungi which is thickly encysted (has a thick cell wall) in order to survive through stressful times, such as drought. It protects the spore from biotic (microbial, fungal viral), as well as abiotic (wind, heat, xeric conditions) factors.
