RIBOSOMES

Discovery ->

➡Claude and named it microsome.

actually he discovered fragments of rough endoplasmic reticulam.

Robson and Brown 1st discovered ribosome in plant cell.

Palade 1st discovered ribosome in animal cell and hence ribosome is called.

Occurence ->

➡ Ribosomes are present in all type of cells.

➡Ribosomes can be found floating within the cytoplasm or attached to the endoplasmic reticulum.

Difference between prokaryot and eukaryot on the basis of ribosomes present in it.

Prokaryot ->

In the Prokariyotic cells ribosomes are scattered in cytoplasm and attracted to plasma memebrane.

Eukaryot ->

In the eukaryotic cells ribosomes are present on the nuclear membrane.

➡ It also present in the cytoplasm.

➡ In rough endoplasmic raticulam .

➡ In chloroplast and mitochondria.

Main Functions of Ribosomes

➡ It helps in protein synthesis.
