 when Acids and bases combine each other formed salt and water . Salt is formed when cation of bases and anion of acids . Ex Nacl 
Na+ + Cl-  → NaCl

salts are generally ionic compounds, salts contain both positive ions ie. cation, and negative ions known as anion.Salt is formed when cation of base and anion of acid combine together. salts don't have any effect on the litmus. the most common example of salt that is we used in our daily meal is Nacl
( sodium chloride )...
