The organisms which exhibit saprotrophic mode of nutrition are called as saprotrophs. Saprotrophs obtain their nutrition from dead and decaying organic matter. Saprotrophs secrete digestive juices onto dead and decaying matter to dissolve it and then absorb nutrients from it.
