a scaler quantities is a one dimensional measured of a quantity like temp. or mass. A vector has more than one no. associated with it. A simple example is velocity.

scalar quantities have only magnitude (only value)

For eg: length (needs no direction )

vector quantities need both magnitude and direction

For eg :velocity (needs direction  as well as magnitude)

nnkishorelic: Sorry you are wrong.Where u given length for scalar but always length may not be as distance (scalar) but also displacement which is a vector
nnkishorelic: And vector is not simply having magnitude and direction but it must and should follow vector law of addition not so it may be a tensor.
patilhiteshajit: okk ......I correct myself there should be distance instead of length
ritika68636678: okk
nnkishorelic: Now correct
patilhiteshajit: thanks for correcting me ...........
ritika68636678: ok ok
ritika68636678: most wlcm
