Rocks which are formed of sediments like air, ice, water are known as sedimentary rocks. Soil eroaion, weathering and several other climatic factors are responsible for the formation of such sedimentary rocks.

The two features of sedimentary rocks are as follows in points :

i) It is believed that fossils which are the remains of dead plants and animals are found in sedimentary rocks.

ii) Oil and gas can also be found in sedimentary rocks.
