Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are infections that are commonly spread by sexual activity, especially vaginal intercourse, anal sex and oral sex. This is the definition of STD.

(i) bacterial infection- gonorrhea and syphilis

(ii) viral infection- HIV and human papilloma virus(HPV)
