Elements and compounds share a few similarities as they both are pure substances and have a uniform composition.

What is an element?

The pure substance of one sort of atom is referred to as a chemical element.

What is a compound?

A compound is any substance made out of indistinguishable particles comprising two or more elements.

Similarities between element and compound:

  • Both the element and the compound are pure forms of matter.
  • We can't break an element down any farther into simplest compounds because they're all made out of identical atoms.
  • The composition of both elements and compounds is uniform throughout.

Thus, we can say that elements and compounds share some similarities.
