Topsoil is the first layer called A horizon.
A layer of mineral is called B horizon.
the layer made up of small lumps if rocks with cracks and cevices , C horizon.
Below the C horizon the next is the Bedrock

A soil horizon is a layer generally parallel to the soil surface, whose physical characteristics diifer from the layers above and beneath it.
there are 5 main horizon
- o Horizon it is the top layer of soil, made up of leaf litter and humus. it is mostly found in forest areas
- A horizon it lies below O horizon. it is made of humus mixed with minerals. it is important part of soil because it is source of plant nutrients. this is the layer which get washed away or buried by natural events.
- B horizon it lies below A horizon. it is also called subsoil. made of clay and minerals. it isn't as fertile as A hotizon.
- C horizon it lies below C horizon. it is also called regolith. it represent a transition zone between bedrock and the soil.
- R horizon it is the final layer of soil profile.it contain the continuous masses of hard rocks. it is called the parent material of soils
