Not sure what you mean by “next generation”.

Do you mean people who are currently in high school, or maybe their as yet unborn children?

Well, those who are alive now are going to eventually have to face the fundamental problem of global civilization falling apart at the seams. Covid-19 is basically a bad flu, and it’s caused the global economy to grind to a halt amidst all manner of hysteria. That’s not a sign of a healthy civilization.

It’s like the feather before the last straw.

When’s the last straw? We could find out before the end of the year. Or it could be next year. But there’s going to be a last straw. The global economy will go down and not be able to get back up. And the international security order is going to evaporate. The Chinese have a plan for this. Russia has a plan for this.
