The Tiger King by Kalki deals with the desire to gain power from one’s own sake rather than wanting power to help others.  

EXPLANATION:

   Here, the maharaja of Pratindapuram was called the Tiger King. It was said by the astrologer that the king would meet his death by a tiger. When he reached the age of twenty, he decided to kill the tigers as an act of self defense.

   The tigers became extinct in the forest of Pratindapuram. Finally, it was left like it was only one tiger left unkilled. His anxiety goes to the extreme of continuing his life campaigning in the forest and waiting for the tiger.
