What are some of the responsibilities of state governments in the United States? What do these states control within their boundaries? In a short paragraph, give a few examples of what states do.

complex answer. you need to know the following though.

united states of america is a federation, having a powerful center(president, senate, and the congress) and the 50 federating units(states). each state is represented by two senators in the senate. and in the congress by representation based on population(the bigger the population, the bigger number of members in congress).

powers and responsibilities can be called subjects.

so the central governments controls 18 subjects which includes currency, defence, taxation etc

the rest of all the powers are vested in the state government. education, police, developmental projects, health etc
