BACTERIA CAN SHARE GENES WITH EACH OTHER IN A PROCESS CALLED HORIZONTAL GENE TRANSFER. THIS CAN OCCUR BOTH BETWEEN BACTERIA OF THE SAME SPECIES AND DIFFERENT BETWEEN SPECIES AND BY SEVERAL DIFFERENT MECHANISM , GIVEN THE RIGHT CONDITION.
