What are some things that one can do to get organized while applying for college?

After getting the result of 12th, there is a big rush in mind for what to do next and bigger rush in colleges for admission.
To get organized, we are to keep in mind:
1. Firstly, be clear for which course you want to pursue. Accordingly, list out the names of the relevant colleges which provide admissions for the course you selected. Attend seminars, if you are not clear about the courses.
2. Prepare list with important details like opening date and closing date of application in colleges, fees amount, minimum percentage required, etc. and make sure that your list gives you more varied options, if one college becomes unavailable.
3. After the list is prepared, visit the colleges or you can also call them and make inquiry. Update your list with the answers you received from the colleges like exams will be conducted or admissions are full or closing date of applications is gone, etc. This will not confuse you and you will be clear about the status of each college, you applied.
4. One can also take help of cousins or relatives or friends if they have experience in the field which you wish to apply. They might give more clear idea and guidance of what should be done or what is more beneficial.
