source

a place, person or thing where something comes or starts from or where something is obtained

sink temperature

heat transferred from a heat source to a sink is used to raise the temperature of the sink while that of the source falls, until the temperatures are equal and no more heat can be transferred. When heat is converted into work, the temperature of the heat source falls, approaching that of the heat sink.
