What are special economic zone? Why they have been set up?

sez are industrial zones where industries are set up by industrialist to attract foreigners to invest in India. In sez govt give all the facilities for the industrialist to improve their production. Those who set up industry in sez don't have to pay taxes for first five yrs. This is mainly set up for the attraction of foreigners to invest in India
