Spinal nerves are nerves which arise from the spinal cord.These are a pair of 31 nerves.A typical spinal nerve is a mixed nerve i.e; it consist of sensory neurons,motor neurons and mixed neurons.It involves both voluntary and involuntary activities

  • Spinal nerves arise from the gray matter of the spinal cord.

  • Spinal nerves have two roots, namely- "Sensory root" and "Motor root".

  • The sensory root of the spinal nerves is dorsal.

  • The motor root of the spinal nerves is ventral.

  • The dorsal root of the spinal nerves is "Afferent".

  • The ventral root of the spinal nerves is "Efferent".

  • There are 10 pairs of spinal nerves in a frog.

  • There are 37 pairs of spinal nerves in a rabbit.
