What are spring and common balance?

A spring balance has a spring on its tip which has an end of hook on which the weight is measured. The more the spring stretches the more it's weight is shown.

Common Balance is a balance in which there are two ends .The two ends have same weight till we add a particular iron weight and on the other end the object which we want to measure.
