Undifferentiated cells are also called as stem cells .

Stem cells are the unspecialised cells. They are not specialize to do a special function . They have ability to divide themselves that is they have power of divison. They can divide into two daughter cells.

e.g. :- It is present in Root and shoot apices , skin cells , terminal epithelium, bone marrow , zygote etc.

As our skin cells damage and repair daily they must have the cells that can divide into further cells. So they are called stem cells or undifferentiated cells.
