Hormones are substances secreted by endocrine glands that acts at sites away from the source of their production. Hormones are either derivatives of amino acids, like Thyroxine and epinephrine, or cholesterol like adrenal and gonadal steroids.  

So I conclude by saying that steroids are only a subset of hormones.
