hello!

stomata are the small openings found on leaves

  • they are surrounded by two guard cells by which opening and closing of stomata occurs
  • they are meant for exchange of gases and also for transpiration
  • guard cells are kidney shaped they close when there is a need to save water and open to perform photosynthesis
