When an acid is completely ionised in water to produce a large amount of hydrogen ions, it is called strong acid.
For example : ,Sulphuric acid is a strong acid because it is completely ionised in water.
H2SO4 (aq) ➡2H+(aq) +SO²4-(aq)
When an acid is partially dissociated I'm water to produce a small number of hydrogen ions, it is called weak acid.
For example : Acitic acid is a weak acid as it is partially or feebly ionised in water to produce a small number of hydrogen ions, in comparison to the ions produced by strong acid.
