A Synchronous machine is a machine running at same frequency and phase (or fixed de-phase)

It is a dynamoelectric machine (such as a generator or motor) that has a constant magnetic field and an armature which receives or delivers alternating current in synchronism with the motion of the machine and at a frequency equal to the product of the number of pairs of poles and the speed of the machine in revolutions.

Answer:

A synchronous electric motor is an AC motor in which, at steady state, the rotation of the shaft is synchronized with the frequency of the supply current; the rotation period is exactly equal to an integral number of AC cycles.
