Specimens are collected from different sources and the collected information is stored. Biologists have put in place certain procedures and techniques for storing and preserving information and specimens. This information is referred to as taxonomic aids because in taxonomic studies it helps the biologists. The following are some taxonomic aids-
Herbarium: The herbarium is a collection of plants that are pressed, dried, and preserved, mounted on paper sheets, properly labeled, systematically arranged, and available for reference or study.
Botanical garden: The Botanical Garden is useful for the scientific study, conservation and recreation plants from different groups or different generations of species. Usually, they house library, lab, herbarium, and museum. They also offer facilities teaching and training.
Museum: A museum is a building where inanimate objects are preserved and exhibited to illustrate human or natural history. Museums have a collection for study and reference of preserved plants and animal specimens."
