The Brahma Samaj was founded by Raja Ram Mohan Roy and later Debendranath Tagore followed in his footsteps and took the reins of Brahma  samaj  in his hands. The main teachings and principles of Brahma

2- It focused on women development and improving their situation in the  society.

3- It believed in considering every individual as an equal, there was no discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion and gender.

4-It also opposed the trend of child marriage and sati pratha.

5- It was adamant on providing education to each and every individual.

These teachings were the pillars of survial and growth of Brahma Samaj.
