tissues and the meristematic tissues

Answer:
CHARACTERISTICS OF MERISTEMATIC TISSUE - DEFINITION
The Meristem is plant tissue capable of cell divison forming new tissues. It actively divides cells adding new cells to plant. Meristem contains undifferentiated cells procuding specialized cells structures. Apical meristem, intercalary meristem and lateral meristem are categories of Meristematic Tissue.
The characteristics of meristematic tissue are as follows:
1. Cells are small and usually cubical.
2. Cell walls are thin and Nuclei are large.
3. Vacuoles are almost absent.
4. Cells tightly packed with almost intercellular spaces.
5. The new cell produced is transformed into mature permanent tissues.
6. Meristematic tissues are classified on the basis of origin, position, and function.
MERISTEMATIC TISSUE - DEFINITION
A meristematic tissue is a simple tissue composed of group of similar and immature cells which can divide and form new cells.

Ans) Both stems and roots contain vascular tissues(Xylem and Phloem) the circulatory system of the plant Both stems and roots are able to initiate lateral growth that is to form branches
