There are two types of syllabary alphabets in Japanese:-
- Hiragana
- Katakana
There is also a third type of Alphabet Kanji. Kanji is logographic. Kanji is used for the basic meaning of words.
Hiragana is used for things like particles, conjugations, prepositions, etc.
Katakana is for transcribing foreign words.
