The bar magnet is what is termed a permanent magnet. This means that it is "always on" and can be used to do things like pick up paper clips.

The electromagnet is created by winding a coil of wire about a ferromagnetic core and running a direct current through that coil. Only when the current is flowing will the electromagnet be operating. With the current switched off, the magnetic field around the coil of wire disappears, and the power of the electromagnetic disappears as well.

I am writing all the differences .

The differences between bar magnet and electromagnet are as follows :-

⇒ The bar magnet does not have electric current flow through it.

⇒ Electromagnets are made by passing electric current through it.

⇒ The strength of the magnetic field in bar magnets cannot be changed.

⇒ The strength of the electromagnets can be changed by changing the amount of current in the magnet.

⇒ The direction of the magnetic field cannot be changed.

⇒ The direction of magnetic field can be changed in electromagnets.

⇒ The polarity of bar magnets cannot be changed.

⇒ The polarity of the electromagnets can be changed.

⇒ The bar magnet is generally made of hard iron.

⇒ The electromagnets are generally made of soft iron.
