Three Estates of France:

• France faced Economic recession after American war of Independence.

• As, the France king, Louis XVI helped America for its independence.

• This led to the empty treasure of the France.

• So, to improve the Economy, France was divided into three estates.

• The three estates were:

Clergy - Church and it's officials

Nobility - King and other nobles

Third estate - Lawyers, middle class people, peasants etc.

REIGN OF TERROR:

• The period between 1783 - 1784 is considered as Reign of Terror.

• During this period, Robespierre followed strict policies.

• Maximilian Robespierre was the leader of Political Club named Jacobian Club.

• He prohibited the usage of white flour which was very expensive.

• The meat and bread was rationed and meat was not used more.

• The churches were shut down and they were converted into barracks and offices.

• People who oppose him were sentenced and later guillotined.

• However, later he was sentenced and sent to guillotine for his policies.
