The three main parts of the body are the head, the trunk and the limbs.

  • HEAD:- The head is comprised of cranial and facial elements. It includes the brain, the centre of the nervous system. The cranium is partially covered with hair. The parts of the face arethe forehead, temples, ears, eyes with eyebrows, cheeks, nose, jaw, mouth and chin.

  • TRUNK:- The head is connected to the trunk by the neck. The trunk comprises the chest which is in front, the back, the shoulders and the abdomen. The inner organs which we cannot see are our heart, lungs, stomach, liver with gall-bladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys and small and large intestines (bowels)

  • LIMBS:- The arms and legs are known as the limbs. The upper extremity known as the arm comprises of upper arm, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand with four fingers and one thumb. The lower extremity known as the leg is fastened to the pelvic girdle. It is comprised of the thigh, knee with patella, shin, calf, ankle and foot.
