Answer: The year 1946 was a year of strikes and work stoppages in factories and mils in many parts of the country. 4 major protest movements took place in bombay (2), bengal, telangana. All the people demanded their workplace rights like equality in wages,behavior,food etc. Peasants protested for their rights in share of the harvest with the landlords. many peasants opposed the landlords and demanded cancellation of debts,stoppage of bonded labour, and right distribution of land. All the protests were demanding the peoples original rights which were taken by british when india was colonised.
