Following are the six fundamental rights given to every citizen of India by the Indian Constitution:

1) Right to equality : Everyone is equal before the law . The constitution guarantees no discrimination on the grounds of caste , colour , religion , creed , gender , etc.

2) Right to freedom : The Indian Constitution gives its citizens the right to freely move , have peaceful gatherings and meetings , settle anywhere in the country , start a business across the union anywhere , etc . No citizen can be deprived of these freedoms . However , this right should be used judiciously as this right is meant for useful purpose rather than causing harm to others . Remember your freedom ends where other's starts.

3) Right against exploitation : No person can be made to work against his will . According to this right , labour from child below the age of 14 is banned before the law . Making a child work in hazardous industries like mines or as casual workers at shops is punishable before law .

4) Right to freedom of religion : It is totally the will of a citizen to choose which religion to profess or if to profess any . No one can be forced to follow a particular religion . Every religion is considered equal in the eyes of constitution .

5) Cultural and Educational right : Every person is free to follow his own culture . However in the name of culture , no violent activity like sacrificing of human , animal , etc is not allowed .

6) Right to constitutional remedies : This is called " Heart and soul of Indian Constitution " and "The guardian of all the rights" as this right protects all other five rights guaranteed . Person may reach court of law using this right , if any of his right is violated . The court shall protect the person's rights .

This right even remains during emergency when all other rights are withdrawn .
