Cane toads have various adaptations, but secreted toxins are their biggest asset. In adult toads, the parotoid glands behind each eye secrete a milky poison called bufotoxin when the animal is threatened.

Adaptation. These toads have several adaptive features in order to protect themselves from their numerouspredators. They inflate their lungs, increase their body size and appear larger before their predators to dodge them. When these toads feel threatened their bodies secrete a certain kind of fluid called bufotoxin.
