The advantages of using pipe lines are
1)they are used for transporting Crude Oil ,Petroleum products and natural gas from oil fields to refineries .
2)solids can also be transported through Pipe when converted into slurry.
3)initial cost of laying pipelines is high but running cost is low .
4)pipelines are also used to transport water to Cities and industries .
5)because of pipelines Refineries at Barauni, Mathura, Panipat and gas based fertilizer plants could we locate in interior of India .
